TREY MYERS

Trey Myers started his career in monster trucks through Mike Vaters of Black Stallion, working his way through the ranks of being a crew member for six years.  Myers’ rise through the ranks started with little more than a joke in the shop one day.  “I bought an old leaf spring chassis because I wanted a nice show truck, just something to enjoy. I needed some tires and rims and contacted Mike,” says Myers. “I got to joking with Mike that I wanted to tag along and see how the pros did it (they had met once before through mutual friends), and Mike said, ‘Sure, come along!’
Trey has always had racing and trucks in his blood and came from a background of drag racing and mud bogs.  Trey started driving in monster truck events by getting behind the sticks of Vaters' Battle Kat tank.  He moved up to substitute driver of the Black Stallion after Mike injured himself.  Trey moved up to full time driver of the Iron Warrior monster truck when it came under management of the Black Stallion team.   2008 marks five years driving a monster truck professionally for Myers.  Trey won the 2008 USHRA Monster Jam Sportsman of the Year Award.
When Myers isn’t racing Iron Warrior, he is still very busy as a graphic designer and painter for anything from street trucks to monster trucks.  Myers also straddles both Kamikaze and Psycho jet powered 4-wheelers operated by the Black Stallion team.  He traveled to Europe and drove the Psycho for the 2006 European Monster Jam tour.  Trey says "I never would have expected to be in this position before, but now that it has happened I am enjoying every minute of it."  Myers has some advice for anyone who wants to have a career in monster trucks.  “I want to tell anyone who is interested in doing this for a living to believe in their dreams,” he says. “You can achieve doing this by working hard and grabbing your opportunities!”
