Autodrome

Drumondville QC  – August 29, 2010

The same group of trucks; Black Stallion, Iron Warrior, Crustation, Excalibur, Shock Therapy, Screamin’ Demon and Jay Snyder’s new truck the Illuminator.  The teams traveled overnight to the Autodrome in Drumondville in Quebec.  The teams unloaded and went to work on making repairs so that everyone was race ready when the event got under way.  Tonight the Lobster truck….Crustation dominated the wheelie competition and took the win.  Unfortunately he came down so hard in the wheelie that he broke the rear steering on the truck which put him out of competition.

In round one racing the Black Stallion eliminated Excalibur, Screamin Demon outed the Warrior and Shock Therapy put out the Illuminators lights.  In round two Excalibur came back as fast loser and eliminated Shock Therapy.  The Stallion came back to eliminate Screamin Demon.  In finals racing the all Ford Powered K&N Black Stallion soundly trumped Excalibur and took the racing win for the night.

The freestyle course was pretty scary with vans leading up to school bus stacks.  No fear here though….rookie Tracey in Warrior hit the buses first off and drove right out of the rebound.  Each truck seemed to raise the bar a little higher but it would be the all Ford Powered K&N Black Stallion who would impress this crowd.  Vaters long jumped the Stallion over a bus stack breaking yet another spindle upon landing.  Spindles have been haunting the team all summer but shouldn’t be a problem for the first quarter as Vaters is having Master Tool & Die makes all his spindles now.  Vaters didn’t let up in freestyle and continued on with only three wheels and pulled off a cool 3 wheel donut.  He was awarded the freestyle win for his awesome performance.

River City Speedway

St Croix QC  – August 28, 2010

The River City Speedway was where the trucks came out to play this Saturday night.  Trucks ready to compete were; Black Stallion, Iron Warrior, Crustation, Excalibur, Shock Therapy, Screamin’ Demon and Jay Snyder’s new truck the Illuminator.  Monster truck wheelie competition was close but the all Ford Powered K&N Black Stallion was crowned wheelie winner

The racing action was under way soon enough and round one racing saw the Stallion eliminate Excalibur, then Crustation beat out Shock Therapy.  Illuminator didn’t make the call to the line because of some steering problems.  Screamin’ Demon beat Jimmy Tracey behind the wheel of the Iron Warrior in the last pair for round one.  Round two racing paired up the all Ford Powered K&N Black Stallion against Screamin’ Demon and the Stallion pulled ahead and took the win.  Crustation broke a steering cylinder and didn’t make it back out.  The Stallion worked the rest of the way through the elimination bracket to take the second win of the night in racing.

Illuminator and Crustation were both out of action due to mechanical problems.  The remaining trucks came out one by one to throw down their best show.  In the end it came down to 3 top competitors Excalibur who came in 2nd, Shock Therapy getting 3rd and the all Ford Powered K&N Black Stallion taking the 3rd win of the night in Freestyle.

West End Fair

Gilbert PA  – August 27, 2010

Back again at the West End Fair in Gilbert PA the Vaters’ Monster Motorsports brought some of the best trucks on the circuit to compete; Black Stallion, Big Foot driven by Rick Long, Iron Warrior and the Killer Bee being driven by Jimmy Tracey.

The wheelie contest was crazy but it was Michael Vaters in the all Ford Powered K&N Black Stallion who won the crowd cheer off for the win.  In round one racing Jimmy in Killer Bee was eliminated by Big Foot and the Black Stallion beat out teammate Trey Myers in Iron Warrior.  In finals racing Long in the Foot lined up against Vaters in Stallion.  Both trucks launched from the line and ran all out but in the end it was Big Foot who crossed the finish line first.

Tough truck competition broke up some of the monster truck action which is always a crowd pleaser.  The Transtormer transforming robot put on an exhibition as well.  The crowd was all cheering though when it came back to monster freestyle action.  Rookie Jimmy Tracey put the Killer Bee through its paces and fans say that this freestyle exhibition was the best they have seen from the truck….ever.  Tracey even pulled a slap wheelie across the length of the track which is no easy feat especially for a green driver.  The clear contenders however came down to the two big Fords….Foot and Stallion.   After some major air and criss-cross launches across the obstacles Vaters was able to mix it up enough to win over the fans and the freestyle win.

Stonewall Ruritan – Monster Invasion

Clearbrook VA  – August 20-21, 2010

Vaters’ Monster Motorsports invades the Stonewall Ruritan grounds in Clearbrook VA again this year.  The monster lineup for competition was; Black Stallion, Iron Warrior, Avenger, Brutus, Killer Bee and Storm Damage.

During introductions rookie Jimmy Tracey behind the wheel of the Killer Bee was disappointed when he broke a blower hub and had to sit in the pits for the rest of the show.  Everyone else was ready to rock-n-roll for the spectators packed into the stands.  The wheelie contest was exciting as each truck seemed to go just a bit higher than the one before but it would be Brutus who is well known for his wheelies who took the win.

The fastest qualifier was the all Ford Powered K&N Black Stallion going in to the elimination rounds.  In round one racing Storm Damage got the bye run, Avenger was eliminated by the all Ford Powered K&N Black Stallion.  Brutus lined up against Iron Warrior and Brutus beat Myers by inches on the finish line.  In round two racing Storm Damage was eliminated by Vaters in the Stallion and Avenger came back as fast loser to lose again when paired up with teammate Brutus.  In the finals of racing Michael Vaters in the Black Stallion was lined up with Chris Bergeron in Brutus.  The two drivers were tied and the finish would be close but after hitting the last set of cars the Stallion lost a rear spindle which allowed Brutus to pull ahead to cross the finish line first.

The Black Stallion team worked throughout the intermission to change out the spindle on the truck so that Vaters could make it back out for freestyle.  Monster freestyle was crazy wild as each truck turned up the dial when it was their turn to come out on the track and show off for the fans.  It came down to just two contenders the Stallion and Avenger for the freestyle win but Koehler in Avenger put his freestyle over the edge and took the win when he extended his exhibition over the time limit thrilling the fans.

The weather was perfect again for the second night of competition.  Avenger won the wheelie competition after dragging his tailgate across the line of cars almost perfectly vertical.  Racing….round one action started out with the Storm Damage truck beating the Killer Bee.  Next up was the all Ford Powered Black Stallion who eliminated the dog truck.  In the last pairing for round one Trey in the Warrior was eliminated by Avenger.  Round 2 got started with the Stallion beating out the Avenger truck and the Warrior came back as fast loser to be beat out by Brutus.  All in and down to the racing finals with Black Stallion paired up against Brutus.  Tonight the tide changed and the Stallion beat Brutus in the racing finals.

Freestyle action was fierce.  Some of the best exhibitions were laid down on the track yet this summer.  All the drivers were driving very competitively……a lot of testosterone in the pits as the trucks waited their turn.  Again it came down to two trucks the Black Stallion and Avenger and again Avenger would take the freestyle win over Michael Vaters in the Black Stallion who came in second.  The fans were all excited and stayed after long into the night to meet the drivers and get an autograph.
