LONDON ON CAN the John Labatt Centre......January 14, 2012

The first show for James Tracey in Higher Education....

Higher Education and Jimmy stayed home the first weekend of January but competed in London Ontario at the John Labatt Centre the following week.  Bus driver Jimmy piloted Higher Education skyward in the wheelie competition but when gravity kicked in it brought it all “tumbling down.”  He landed on the rear of the bus and in a slow roll it fell back onto its top.....and it is a big top.  After arriving back at the shop Jimmy and the race team thrashed for 48 hrs with only a few hours of sleep in order to make the repairs.  Photo’s show the progress of the body as it was rebuilt in 2 days.....yeah ... can you believe it?  Stallion team.  Great Job and thanks to everyone who pitched in on this one.

Competing trucks at the Mid-America Center were; Maximum Destruction®, Black Stallion® driven by Mike Vaters, Iron Warrior® driven by Trey Meyers, Wolverine, King Krunch, El Matador, Lucas Oil Crusader℠ and Metal Mulisha! The Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam Series got under way the first weekend of January. 79 teams were competing around the country for a shot at the 24 open spots in the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas at the end of March.

The Safety-Kleen Black Stallion had some transmission problems that Mike caught when he came out for introductions. Wrenches were flying back in the Stallion’s pit as the crew raced to make the repairs. They missed wheelie and racing but their hard work paid off as the Safety-Kleen Black Stallion was able to make it back out for freestyle. Vaters celebrating his 30th year behind the wheel of the Black Stallion demonstrated his experience as he launched off each obstacle landed and attacked the next laying down a blistering run. The spectators went wild as they cheered and gave the all Ford Powered Safety-Kleen Black Stallion a standing ovation. Maximum Destruction went on to win both the wheelie and freestyle competitions. Metal Muslisha won racing.

On Saturday afternoon Iron Warrior tied 3rd place in the wheelie competition.  Vaters in the all Ford Powered Safety-Kleen Black Stallion took a respectable 3rd place in freestyle.  Wolverine  took the racing win.  “Trey Myers in Iron Warrior along with teammate Mike Vaters in the all Ford Powered Safety-Kleen Black Stallion once again showed that they are a team to contend with at any Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam. Both guys run the trucks with reckless abandon, seemingly not worried about anything but giving the fans what they came for, a killer show!!!” as posted from the Monster Jam website.

Saturday nights show was on and first out in the wheelie competition..... Trey Myers in the Iron Warrior launched skyward off the stack of cars getting completely vertical as he earned a score that put him in second place.  “Trey Myers and Mike Vaters, drivers of Iron Warrior and Black Stallion, pounded the track in every event. One thing about those two boys, they are kids at heart and love to entertain the fans.” as written on the Monster Jam website.

Mike behind the wheel of the all Ford Powered Safety-Kleen Black Stallion worked his way through the elimination rounds of racing.  The Stallion crushed King Krunch in round one and beat Maximum Destruction in the semi-finals.  The Safety-Kleen Black Stallion sailed across the finish line first in racing finals taking the Saturday night win as Wolverine came to a stop with mechanical problems.

2012 Gentlemen START YOUR ENGINES....

January 16, 2012

We have two weekends of competition in the Monster Jam under our seat belts and we have already started on this coming weekends show with a promotional display in Charlotte NC at Advance Auto Parts exhibiting Higher Education.  Michael Vaters is “Jammin” in Tampa FL this coming weekend and the Stallion will be on display tomorrow before the show that will take place at the Raymond James Stadium on Saturday night.  This year our haulers are pulling Vaters’ Motorsports’ monster trucks in different directions each week. This is great news for our sponsors and venues because the trucks are competing in front of twice the people.

Vaters’ Monster Motorsports is already booking shows for this coming summer.

There is so much to report since the last update so I will summarize what’s been going on and follow up with the details later.

The Safety-Kleen Black Stallion was on display this past December at the PRI (Performance Racing Industry) trade show in Orlando FL.  It was the highlight of the trade show, so much so that we put it on display the following weekend in Indiana at the IMIS (International Motorsports Industry Show) trade show.  We were able to catch up with our current sponsors and meet new people strategizing how to make the Stallion team even better.  We have hand shakes with some new companies signing on board with our team but I will elaborate on this topic in the next update.

Unfortunately Michael Vaters had to skip the MTRA (Monster Truck Racing Association) annual meeting, banquet and awards ceremony.  We sent team members James Tracey and Matt Cody to represent Vaters’ Motorsports and to attend the annual safety certification class.  Michael Vaters’ monster truck event production company .... Vaters’ Monster Motorsports won the “Promoter of the Year” award for the second year in a row.  Even more exciting is that team member James “Jimmy” Tracey who drives the Higher Education monster won “2011 Rookie of the Year.”  The Black Stallion team works very hard all year and to win these awards from the MTRA and be recognized by your peers in the monster truck industry is an honor......Congratulations Jimmy!  In addition to all of that, 2012 marks the 30th year that Michael Vaters has been tearing it up behind the wheel of the Black Stallion monster truck and we are planning some surprises for the upcoming year in celebration.
